Here’s a personal instance shared by a FIAKS community member, “recently I took reliance Jio Internet connection. The interaction with the sales team was amazing and was paperless. The sales representative entered all the details in the mobile app. However, I was surprised to note that the sales guy took a print screen of the data that he entered on the mobile app. Aadhaar number comes on the screen on scanning the QR code and it’s not encrypted. On asking the salesperson regarding the same he says that it is required for query resolution from the call center. On resisting, he went to the photo gallery and deleted and but kept all the pictures in the trash folder. On further investigation, I was surprised to see 100’s of customer Aadhaar details are saved as ‘PRINT SCREEN’ by the sales staff in the trash folder. This can easily be sold in the open market. “ Have a look at this image;
How can front-line low-cost sales staff take PRINT SCREEN of the mobile app that has full Aadhaar number, name, address, phone number, and email ID?
So, here are some crucial concerns raised up the community that really need to be thought upon;
Question 1: Aren’t the guidelines mandating an app company to encrypt the customer’s Aadhaar details?
Question 2: Shouldn’t UIDAI suspend license AUA/KUA involved in this transaction?
