The robot initially moved randomly, but after about a day ‘with zero prior knowledge of physics, geometry, or motor dynamics’, it was able to ‘imagine’ itself and become aware of what it was. It was then able to pick up balls, dropping them in a cup with 100 per cent accuracy, and write ‘hi’.
